Youth Summer Ministry (YSM)- Week 3

Youth Summer Ministry (YSM): During a week-long mission experience, junior and high school students complete home repair projects or serve as mentors in Day Camp. We mix up the groups in the camp community to create Youth Renewal Groups (YRGs) so participants have the opportunity to further broaden their horizons by meeting others from across the country. Our daily schedule is built around times of work and rest with four times to intentionally pause and turn our attention to the Lord. Through individual devotional time, small group discussions, and corporate worships, participants have the opportunity to connect the “what” and “why of service. YSM is offered for 7 weeks during the summer.

Baker Work Week
May

Baker Work Week

This weekend is dedicated to preparing Camp Baker Mountain for the summer. Year-round operations occur at Camp Cumberland Pines where the full-time office is based. After being closed for months, collecting fall leaves, surviving harsh winters and housing thousands of ladybugs, Baker needs a considerable amount of help before being used for our Youth Summer Ministry program. Projects for the weekend range from cleaning windows and sweeping floors, to painting bathrooms and repairing minor damages. We always need as many volunteers as possible since we only set aside a few days for prepping Baker. This weekend is great if you are seeking a way to get out from behind that computer screen and get your hands dirty, while helping people in the process.

Cost is $165 per person for the whole long weekend, which includes meals and lodging. Our days will start with an optional group morning devotional, but there will be no evening programming.Instead, that time and space is reserved for fellowship and catching up with FRIENDS!
