Home Repair Coordinator

The Home Repair Coordinator will be an integral part of the Support Staff Team, assisting in the planning and implementation of all home repair operations at Mountain T.O.P. programs. This position will also provide summer staff oversight, volunteer management, regular administrative support, and facility repair support. This position reports to and assists the Director of Home Repair & Homeowner Relations.

This position will be hired through the Clinch-Powell Americorp program.

Mountain T.O.P. is a faith-based organization and provides spiritual-life programming for volunteers. This job does not require any participation in spiritual-life programming.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An understanding of the values and philosophies of Mountain T.O.P. and the communities in the service area

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Aptitude in all aspects of leadership

  • A general knowledge of construction, project estimation, project management, and material procurement and delivery

  • Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Salesforce)

  • Physical abilities: lift 50 lbs, move heavy materials, load trailers


Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Service Project Operations 

  • General construction projects: roofing, siding, windows, floors, bathrooms, porches, porch roofs, ramps, and more.

  • Project management: manage all aspects of the project life cycle, from procurement to close out of all programs, including visiting families.

  • Quality work: ensure quality work is being performed according to industry codes and best practices.

  • Volunteer management: develop and manage project schedules with respect to youth and adult volunteer availability. Provide a welcoming and positive attitude while managing. Nights and weekends expected in volunteer management.

  • Database management: maintain proper record keeping for projects (Salesforce, grant applications/paperwork, etc.)

  • Data collection: participate in and oversee acquisition of data through surveys for organizational outcomes measurement.

  • Community engagement: build and maintain effective public relationships with local contacts (e.g. suppliers, community advocates, grant officers) throughout all of the Mountain T.O.P. Service Area.

Facility Expansion & Maintenance

  • Oversee the construction of capital facility projects at both camp locations; self-perform as needed to supplement volunteers

  • Assist with minor facility maintenance as required

  • Prepare detailed drawings and material take-offs for all major projects

  • Develop project cost estimates and budgets

Administration

  • Support Summer Staff Service Project Team during summer operations: train and manage college-aged staff in construction and leadership skills

  • Provide general program and administrative support throughout the year as needed in a collective effort with other staff members

Time Requirement

  • Start date: September 1, 2026 (negotiable)

  • Full-time year-round position 

Salary: Low-Mid 30s (The Americorp base pay is $22,100; however, Mountain T.O.P. will pay an additional compensation to bring the total salary to the low-mid 30s)

Summer Staff

Every year, we hire about 15 young adults who are interested in furthering the mission of Mountain T.O.P. to lead our Youth Summer Ministry program!
