Youth Summer Ministry

Youth Summer Ministry

During a week-long mission experience, junior and high school students complete home repair projects or serve as mentors in Day Camp. We mix up the groups in the camp community to create Youth Renewal Groups (YRGs) so participants have the opportunity to further broaden their horizons by meeting others from across the country. Our daily schedule is built around times of work and rest with four times to intentionally pause and turn our attention to the Lord. Through individual devotional time, small group discussions, and corporate worships, participants have the opportunity to connect the “what” and “why of service. YSM is offered for 7 weeks during the summer.

Service Project

Participants complete home repair projects to improve the safety and sustainability of the homes. These may include porches, wheelchair ramps, painting, roofing, siding, or yard work – each project resulting from an expressed need.

Day Camp

During the summer, Mountain TOP runs a day camps that serve children from the ages of 6 to 11. Participants will have the opportunity to help children learn about the environment, community service, health and local entrepreneurship. Each day the children and volunteers have a devotional time where they talk about the theme for the day and work in their prayer journals.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few commonly asked questions about Mountain T.O.P.! Learn more about these topics and more in the 2019 Registration Packet. Please note the 2019 Registration is meant to be used as guide, not a guarantee for 2020. For more information feel free to contact Rachael at Rachael@mountain-top.org.

Vehicle Requirements

If participating in Service Project, you must provide one 7-passenger vehicle per every seven participants. This allows seven team members, tools/materials and a cooler for lunch to be transported to and from the work site. Each vehicle must have seat belts for seven people, at a minimum. Vehicle with roof rack is recommended, but not required

If participating in Day Camp, you must provide one 12 or 15-passenger vehicle per every seven participants. This allows five the team of about seven people to pick up 5-7 children from the community every day for camp. Each vehicle must have seat belts for 12 people at the minimum.

Please be prepared to help share the cost of a van if you have extra participants over increments of 7 for whom you do not have a vehicle. This is an equitable way for everyone to help bear the burden of transportation costs. Please contact Rachael if you need assistance in arranging transportation.

Coolers

Each vehicle must have a 5-gallon water cooler and large water chest for lunch. This cooler will not stay in your van all week; the kitchen staff will prepare it each day for the group to take out their site
